Refer a business

Send us a business.
Get paid for a year.

You almost certainly know a dental practice, a garage or a firm of solicitors that misses calls all day and has stopped noticing. Introduce them. If they become a client you take a fifth of everything they pay us for their first twelve months, and you never have to sell, build or support anything.

The number

Twenty per cent of everything, for twelve months.

Not twenty per cent of the first invoice. Twenty per cent of the setup fee and of every monthly payment they make in their first year. Paid out of money we have actually received, never in advance of it.

If they take Essential

Three practices on Essential is close to £900 a year for work you finished the moment you sent the email. If they go over their included minutes we pay no commission on the overage, because that is near cost for us and there would be nothing in it to share.

Who do you know?

A business name and a website is genuinely enough. Everything else on this form just helps us open the conversation without wasting their time.

We will confirm within two working days whether they are already known to us, before we contact anybody.

How it works

Three steps, and only the first one is yours.

  1. 1

    You send us a name

The form above, or an email, or a text message. A business name and a website is enough. If you would rather hand out a link than fill in a form, ask and we will give you your own; anyone who arrives on it is tagged as yours automatically.

  2. 2

    We do all of it

We build them an agent on their own website so they can ring it before anything is agreed, we handle the call, the pricing, the setup and the support. You are not expected to explain how any of it works, and we will not put you in the middle of it.

  3. 3

    You get paid monthly

First payment goes out in the month after their setup fee clears, then once a month for a year. Bank transfer or PayPal, whichever suits you. We send a short statement each time showing what they paid and what your share of it was.

There is no target, no minimum, no exclusivity and nothing to sign. Send one business ever and you still get paid for the full year on it.

The rules

All of it, in plain terms.

Every referral scheme has a page like this. Most of them hide it. Ours is short because there is not much to it, and you should read it before you send us anybody.

When exactly does a referral count?

When a business we had not already spoken to becomes a paying client, and you were the first person to tell us about them. Send it over and we will tell you within two working days whether they are already on our list. If they are, we will say so straight away rather than take the introduction and go quiet on you.

When do I actually see money?

In the month after each of their payments clears. We do not pay commission on an invoice that has not been settled, because we have been on the wrong end of that ourselves. If a client leaves and we refund their first month, that month comes back off your next statement. Nothing else is ever clawed back.

Do I have to tell them I am being paid?

We would rather you did, and in some professions you are required to. It is also simply the easier conversation: “I know someone who does this, they will pay me if you sign up, do you want an introduction?” is a sentence people respect. Deciding what your own professional body expects of you is your call, not ours.

Can I introduce someone without asking them first?

No. Only send us details of a business where the person knows you are passing them on. Their name and email are personal data, we become responsible for it the moment it arrives, and a business that gets contacted out of nowhere is not going to buy anything anyway. The form asks you to confirm this and we take the answer seriously.

Can I email a list of strangers about you?

No, and this is the one thing that ends the arrangement immediately. No bought lists, no scraped addresses, no messages that look like they came from us. UK law on unsolicited email is stricter than most people assume and the damage lands on our domain, not yours. Warm introductions only.

Can you turn a referral down?

Yes, and occasionally we will. Some businesses we cannot serve properly because their booking system will not connect to anything, and some we do not want to take money from. We will tell you which it was.

Can I refer my own business?

No. Not your company, not a company you own part of, and not a business you are a director of. If you want it for yourself you want the pricing page, and if you want a discount for being an early client, just ask us for one.

How long does this offer stand?

We can change the rate for new referrals whenever we like, but never for one already sent. Whatever we agreed when your introduction came in is what gets paid for the whole twelve months, even if we cut the rate for everybody else the following week.

I want to resell it under my own name instead

That is a different and better arrangement, and it already exists. On the Agency tier you set your own price, keep the client relationship and take the margin, while we build and maintain every agent behind your name. It is on the pricing page. If you run an agency with a client base, that is almost certainly the one you want rather than this.

Hear it before you recommend it.

Do not put your name to something you have not heard. Build an agent on any business you like, ring it, and see whether it is something you would actually be comfortable introducing to someone who trusts you.
